HMI & SCADA: from machine operation to plant overview

Operator screens in WinCC on the machine, and plant-wide visualisation and alarming in Ignition.

What we do

GCG designs and builds operator interfaces and visualisation for machines and installations. What is running, which condition is missing, and where does an alarm come from? With the operators, we determine which screens, trends and messages are needed.

  1. Machine HMI

B&R mapp View, Siemens WinCC Flexible/Professional: operator screens directly on the machine.

  2. SCADA

Ignition and CIMPLICITY for plant-wide visualization and alarming.

  3. Custom interfaces

Purpose-built HMIs using HTML/CSS/JS on top of the PLC operating system where off-the-shelf packages fall short.

  4. Alarming & trending

Alarm management, historical trends, and operator workflows grounded in real practice.

Delivery and handover

We define the required operator screens, alarms and trends, and how they will be tested. The agreed HMI/SCADA software and documentation form the basis for handover to your operators and maintenance team.

Our engineers’ work

  • From sensor readings to operator information.

    Lucas · Siemens / IO-Link

Lucas delivered a PLC/HMI system for measuring pleat height and pack width. Measurement processing, limit monitoring and calibration turn sensor data into useful information at the machine.

    Nick · Pick-by-Light / RS485

Nick wrote an RS485 driver for a Pick-by-Light system. The communication connects a request from an application or database to the hardware indicating the storage location.
