PLC programming for machine and process automation

PLC software in Siemens TIA Portal, B&R Automation Studio and WAGO/CODESYS. FAT in Volendam, SAT on site.

What we do

GCG writes PLC software for machines and process installations. From I/O and sequences to motion and fault diagnosis, we program, test and commission the controls. Our work includes Siemens, B&R and WAGO/CODESYS.

  1. Programming languages

Structured Text, Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram, and Sequential Function Chart (IEC 61131-3).

  2. Platforms

    Siemens (S5, S7-300/400, S7-1500, TIA Portal), B&R (Automation Studio), WAGO/CODESYS.

  3. Architecture

I/O design, functional specifications, modular software structure, version control.

  4. Safety

Safety PLCs and functional safety per EN ISO 13849-1 / EN 62061.

  5. Motion & robotics

Servo and motion programming, robot integration (e.g. B&R ACOPOS, COMAU).

  6. Validation

FAT in Volendam, SAT on site, documented acceptance criteria.

Not separate from electrical engineering and commissioning

An output in the PLC program must match the drawing and the terminal in the cabinet. We coordinate software, electrical work and commissioning, then test the functions on the machine.

Delivery and handover

The assignment defines which PLC software, functional description and test results will be handed over, so your engineering team can review operation and take over maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only work on B&R, or other PLC brands too?

GCG is a B&R Automation Value Provider, but we program Siemens (TIA Portal/S7) and WAGO/CODESYS just as readily. The best platform depends on your existing installation and preference.

Can you take over and extend an existing PLC program?

Yes. We first analyze the existing software and documentation before making changes, and agree how to retest the existing functions.

  • From sensor readings to operator information.

    Lucas · Siemens / IO-Link

Lucas delivered a PLC/HMI system for measuring pleat height and pack width. Measurement processing, limit monitoring and calibration turn sensor data into useful information at the machine.
